1 lb ground beef
4 ciabatta rolls, sliced in half
1/4 cup Cookies Sweet Hickory Barbecue Sauce
2 t Cookies Flavor Enhancer + add’l for topping
8 t Worcestershire sauce
4 T butter, divided
1/2 cup bacon pieces, cooked
4 slices cheddar cheese
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees, just to get it warmed up a bit. Place your top oven rack to the middle of the oven. Cover a small rimmed baking sheet with foil. Place the bottom halves of the ciabatta buns on the foil lined sheet.
In a bowl gently combine the ground beef, Cookies Sweet Hickory barbecue sauce and the Cookies Flavor Enhancer. Divide the meat into 4 balls. Take one of the balls and gently press into a rounded patty and place it directly on top of the ciabatta bun. Continue to do this for the remaining burgers.
Using a knife gently score the tops of the burgers making an “X”. Drizzle 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce on top of each burger. Then place 1 square tablespoon of butter on each patty. Finally sprinkle on some additional Cookies Flavor Enhancer.
Turn off the bake option to the oven and place it to “broil”. Place the baking sheet of burgers into the oven and broil for 10 minutes. Do not walk away (it’s a good idea to set a timer). Check on them the last few minutes just to make sure they aren’t getting too done, too fast.
Remove the burgers from the oven and top with a slice of cheddar cheese and the bacon crumbles. Then broil for an additional 1-2 minutes or until melted and golden.
Remove from the oven and serve immediately with your favorite burger toppings. These can be eaten open-faced or topped with the remaining half of the ciabatta bun.
